PRIVACY POLICY
1. INTRODUCTION
This Privacy Policy describes the guidelines and principles adopted by QUANTAL, S.A. (hereinafter “QUANTAL”) to ensure the protection of personal data subjects, establishing guidelines regarding the rights of the data subjects and the processing and free movement of personal data.
2. DATA SUBJECTS
The following information is intended for individuals who apply for a job at QUANTAL through our recruitment forms available at www.quantal.pt/careers/, as well as candidates who contact us through other means, namely email, telephone, and social media (the “Data Subjects”).
The scope of this Privacy Policy ceases with the formalization of an employment or service contract with the Data Subjects, in which case the processing of their personal data will be governed by the respective contractual terms and applicable legislation.
3. DATA CONTROLLER
QUANTAL, as identified below, is the data controller within the meaning of Regulation (EU) No. 679/2016 of April 27 (General Data Protection Regulation, hereinafter “GDPR”), i.e., the entity that determines the purposes and means of processing personal data belonging to the Data Subjects:

4. CATEGORIES OF PERSONAL DATA
QUANTAL may process personal data included in the following categories (the “Personal Data”):
- Identification Data: such as full name, gender, marital status, date of birth, identification document number and validity, tax identification number (NIF), social security identification number (NISS), IBAN;
- Academic and Professional Data: such as academic qualifications, training, and professional experience;
- Contact Data: such as address, email address, and telephone contact.
Personal data is voluntarily provided by the data subjects at the first contact with QUANTAL.
5. PURPOSES AND LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING
Personal Data is processed by QUANTAL for the following purposes and based on the following legal grounds:

Personal Data is not processed by QUANTAL or any entity to whom it may be transferred under this Privacy Policy for marketing purposes.
6. PROFILING AND AUTOMATED DECISIONS
QUANTAL does not make decisions based on automated data processing (“profiling”), as there is always human intervention in the selection of job candidates.
7. TRANSFERS OF PERSONAL DATA
Personal Data may be transferred to companies specializing in providing hosting services for the website www.quantal.pt, backup systems, and other IT support and development services, companies providing document digitization and archiving services, lawyers, financial auditors, and other QUANTAL consultants.
Personal Data may also be shared with third parties (i) due to a judicial requirement or notification for this purpose, (ii) at the request of a public authority, (iii) following an express request by the Data Subjects regarding their data, in the exercise of their rights, or (iv) due to existing legislation at any given time.
QUANTAL does not transfer personal data to any other third parties, namely to recipients whose registered office or data processing location is outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
In the transmission of Personal Data under this section, QUANTAL ensures that the recipient entities are bound by a subcontracting agreement that obliges them to process Personal Data in compliance with applicable data protection legislation and regulations.
8. RETENTION PERIODS
If the Data Subject enters into an employment or service contract with QUANTAL, their Personal Data will be retained for the duration of the contractually established relationship and, after its termination, for the contractually established period.
In the event that no contractual relationship is established with the Data Subject, their Personal Data will be deleted within five years after the last contact between QUANTAL and the Data Subject.
9. RIGHTS OF DATA SUBJECTS
As an expression of the commitment to ensuring the privacy of Data Subjects, QUANTAL guarantees, in accordance with applicable national and EU legislation, a wide range of rights that can be exercised as follows:
- Right of access: Data Subjects can, at any time, contact QUANTAL and request confirmation that their Personal Data is being processed and, if so, be informed about: (i) the categories of Personal Data in question; (ii) the purposes of processing their data; (iii) the retention period or criteria used to determine it; (iv) the rights they have and how to exercise them; (v) the origin of the data concerning them; (vi) the existence of automated decisions, including profiling;
- Right to erasure: also known as the “right to be forgotten,” allows the Data Subject to request the deletion or removal of their Personal Data when there is no compelling reason for QUANTAL to continue using it. The right to erasure is not absolute as QUANTAL may have the right or obligation to retain the information, such as when it is subject to a legal obligation to retain Personal Data for a certain period;
- Right to rectification: whenever they find that Personal Data is outdated, incomplete, or incorrect, Data Subjects may request QUANTAL to rectify it as soon as possible;
- Right to data portability: Data Subjects also have the rights to: (i) receive from QUANTAL the Personal Data concerning them, in a commonly used and machine-readable format; (ii) transmit this data to third parties outside QUANTAL, under the sole responsibility of the Data Subject; and/or (iii) request QUANTAL to transmit that data to third parties, under the sole responsibility of the Data Subject;
- Right to restriction of processing: each Data Subject may request the restriction of the processing of their Personal Data in the following cases: (i) if they contest the accuracy of their Personal Data, for a period that allows verifying its accuracy; (ii) if the processing is unlawful and they oppose the erasure of Personal Data, requesting instead the restriction of its use; (iii) if QUANTAL no longer needs Personal Data for processing purposes, but the data is required for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims; or (iv) if they have objected to processing, pending verification of whether QUANTAL’s legitimate interests override theirs;
- Right to object: Data Subjects have the right to object at any time, for reasons related to their particular situation, to the processing of Personal Data. However, QUANTAL may invoke legitimate reasons to continue processing;
- Right to lodge a complaint: they have the right to contact the National Data Protection Commission (www.cnpd.pt) to complain about QUANTAL’s data protection practices.
10. SECURITY OF PERSONAL DATA
Personal Data will be processed by QUANTAL, within the context of the purposes identified in this Privacy Policy, using appropriate technical and organizational measures to promote its security and integrity, particularly against unauthorized or unlawful processing of Personal Data and its accidental loss, destruction, or damage.
11. CHANGES
QUANTAL may change or update this Privacy Policy in response to new legal or regulatory requirements, as well as following improvements in the quality of its services and the development of QUANTAL’s commitment to personal data protection.
Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be duly publicized through QUANTAL’s various communication channels.
